Updated NZF Skill Centres are back for Term 1 2017
The skill centre will offer an additional weekly training to junior footballers aged 9 to 12 years through a planned, enjoyable and consistent approach to training, based around principles of long term player development.
NZ skill centres will provide a perfect start for players wishing to reach the highest level, and you don't need to be a member of a specific club in order to enter a FSC.

Please note that for Ferrymead Bays the Skill Centre wil be starting Wednesday 8th Feb, with a one-off session on the 9th Feb (to account for Waitangi day), followed by regular Monday/Wednesday sessions until the 29th March - just in time for the start of the soccer season on the 1st April.
Updated GIRLS ONLY Summer Hub - Term 1 2017
The idea is to provide an opportunity for girls aged 5-13 - who may prefer playing in a girl-only environment - to come along and enjoy playing football.
The sessions will involve football coordination activities, technical development and small-sided games.

New YOUTH ACADEMY - TERM 1 2017
For some years now we have run a Junior Academy for 10-12 year olds in Terms 2 and 3 of the year.
This year we are introducing a Youth Academy for 13-17 year olds in Term 1 and aim to continue this also through Terms 2 and 3.
This will be held at Ferrymead Park on Mondays from 5.00-6.30 pm.
Details will be emailed to all relevant youth players.
17th and 19th grades
In 2016 we had 3 teams in 17th grade. This year we hope to have 3 teams over 17th and 19th grades.
17th grade is for players turning 16 or 17 in 2017.
19th grade is for players turning 18 or 19 in 2017.
Pre-season training for 17th and 19th grade players will now be at Barnett Park at 6.30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning on Tuesday 14th February.
2017 SEASON INFORMATION
All registrations are now to be completed online.
New players can register through the link on the online registrations tab.
Members who played for the Club in 2016 will be invited by email to re-register online - it is recommended they do this.
The 2017 season officially starts on Saturday 1st April - there will be a 2 week break on Saturday 15th April (Easter Saturday) and Saturday 22nd April for school holidays, then competitions will re-commence on Saturday 29th April. There will also be a break on Saturday15th July for school holidays.
The Club supplies playing shirts - players need to purchase their own white shorts and Club socks. Anderson and Hill, Barrington Mall are our preferred supplier. Club socks are also available from the Redcliffs Dairy.
Junior Gradings (see details further below regarding how each specific grade works):
NOTE: These sessions are for mixed grades only, not for the girls only grades.
Grading sessions for 10th to 14th grades will be held at Redcliffs Park on Sunday 12th and Sunday 19th February.
10th grade: Sunday 19th Feb, 2.00 -3.30 pm.
11th grade: Sunday 12th Feb, 2.00 - 3.30 pm.
12th grade: Sunday 19th Feb, 10.00 - 11.30 am.
13th grade: Sunday 12th Feb, 4.30 - 6.00 pm.
14th grade: Sunday 19th Feb, 5.00 - 6.30 pm.
15th, 17th and 19th grades: trials to be held if required.

What we offer...
Please note that all players should be playing in the grade which matches them turning that age this year e.g. if the player turns 6 in 2017, he/she plays in First Kicks; if the player turns 8 in 2017, then he she plays in Fun Football; if the player turns 11 in 2017, then he/she plays in 11th grade.
First Kicks for 4-6 year olds and Fun Football for 7-8 year olds
These programmes are run alongside each other at Ferrymead Park from 9am - 10am on Saturday mornings. Children participate in a range of age-appropriate football-based activities designed to let them improve their basic skills while focusing on enjoying their football.
The programmes have been developed based on the NZ Football Whole of Football plan and the sessions are run by parents who have been trained as Game Leaders.
Children don't need any specific playing strip but boots and shin pads are recommended.
We offer an extra mid-week session for Fun Football - details are still to be confirmed for 2017.
This year the programmes will be implemented and overseen by two year 13 students, Savanah Morton-Smith and Omar Cameron. Initially all queries and day to day email/phone contacts will be handled by Club Captain Ren Cameron.
This is 7 a side and teams are put together, usually with groups of friends or kids who want to play together, and they play as a team in a league on Saturday mornings.
There are no trials for this grade.
10th Grade, 11th Grade and 12th Grade
Grading sessions are held and depending on their ability, players are placed into A teams, B teams or social teams. They play in either A, B or social leagues on Saturday mornings.
- 10th grade is 7 a side.
- 11th and 12th grades are 9 a side.
13th Grade and upwards (Youth Football)
Grading sessions are held where required and players are placed into A teams, B teams, C teams, etc. They play in either Division 1,2, 3, etc., on Saturday mornings. 13th grade is the first grade in which league tables are kept.
- 13th grade and upwards is 11 a side.
- Grades for Youth Football this year are 13th, 14th, 15th, 17th and 19th.
Every grade of football is actually mixed, meaning both boys and girls can play in the same team.
However, there are specific grades available for girls only, which a lot of girls prefer as they are then only playing with other girls.
- 10th grade, for girls turning 9 and 10
- 11th grade, for girls turning 11
- 13th grade for girls turning 12 and 13
- 15th grade, for girls turning 14 and 15
All of our coaches are volunteers and every year we require coaches for our junior and youth teams. It is a very rewarding thing to do and our Club will pay for coaches to go on appropriate coaching courses run by Mainland Football.
Over the last few years, a 13th grade team has attended the Kanga Cup international tournament in Canberra in July. This year the 13th grade girls Flames team will attend the McCartney tournament in Taupo.
We are entering a team in the boys Auckland City 17s tournament in Auckland in March.
We will be entering teams in the Christchurch International Cup in July, in each of 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th grades.
We enter a team in the 10th grade Nelson boys tournament in September.
We enter the Waimak girls only tournament in July.
We enter teams in the 9th grade Waimak festival in September.
We enter a team in the Coastal Spirit Lotto u-19 tournament in October.
