Regular Season Information

Junior Football (10-13 years)

Junior football is for players born between 2013-16, is played on Saturday mornings in the Mainland competition and is split into age bands, playing on different fields around the city at various times.

The focus is still on enjoyment, with no results or tables being recorded.

At the start of the season, players are placed in teams based on graded ability, friendship groups, association to the coach, or general allocation.

2026 Grading Info:

  • 10th boys/mixed: 4-5pm Barnett Park, 23rd & 25th of February.
  • 11th boys/mixed: 4-5pm Barnett Park, 24th & 26th February.
  • 11th girls: 4-5pm Barnett Park, 24th & 26th February.
  • 12th boys/mixed: 5:15-6:15pm Barnett Park, 23rd & 25th of February.
  • 13th boys/mixed: 5:15-6:15pm Barnett Park, 24th & 26th February


  • 13th girls: Pre season sessions 5pm Monday & Thursday Ferrymead Park - starting January 26th.

Ferrymead Bays FC has multiple teams playing in each age grade.

Junior games start on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026.

Boys/mixed:

  • 10th boys/mixed       7-aside      25 min halves     9:15am    
  • 11th boys/mixed       7-aside      25 min halves    10:30am    
  • 12th boys/mixed       9-aside      25 min halves     9:15am     
  • 13th boys/mixed       9-aside      30 min halves    10:30am    

Girls only: 

  • 11th girls only            7-aside       25 min halves    10:30am   
  • 13th girls only            9-aside       30 min halves    10:30am   

Fee: $240

Junior playing kit: Players need boots and shinpads. Shirts are provided and navy shorts and socks can be bought from our online shop.

Skills sessions: Available now via Otakaro FC.
