Ferrymead Bays - January 2026 Junior Holiday Programme

We are super excited to host a Holiday Programme for kids aged 9 to 13 years during the school holidays. Please let us know your interest as soon as possible and join in some football fun to end the school holidays before school start in 2026.

PLEASE READ - the Stuff you need to know....

Dates: Wed 28th Jan, Thurs 29th Jan, Fri 30th Jan

Venue: All sessions will be hosted at Ferrymead Park

Duration: Sessions will run from 9am-12:30pm.

Activities include: Fun skill sessions and small sided games.

Food and drink: Children to bring own food and drink as required. There is a water fountain available at Ferrymead Park.

First Kicks/Fun Football Term 1 Programme

We have an opportunity for our youngest existing or new players to "have a go" and join in a 6 week programme of fun activity playing football down at Ferrymead Park.

Boys and girls turning 4, 5, 6 and 7 in 2026 (First Kicks) and turning 8 or 9 in 2026 (Fun Football) are welcome to register and come down.

When: Mon 16th Feb , Mon 23rd Feb, Mon 2nd March, Mon 9th March, Mon 16th March & Mon 23rd March.

Where: Ferrymead Park

Time: 4pm to 5pm

Junior Bays Ballers

Ferrymead Bays - Junior Bays Ballers - Term 1 2026

We are super excited to be continuing with Junior Bays Ballers in Term 1. This programme is for all of our keen junior players who are looking to get their football fix before the 2026 season starts. Each session will include skill activities, fun drills, and small sided games.

This programme is for existing or new players turning 10, 11, 12, or 13 in 2026 (as well as 9 year olds who played 9th grade in 2025). It will be 6 sessions in total, Tuesdays in Term 1 starting on the 10th of February.

When: Tue 10th Feb, Tue 17th Feb, Tue 3rd March, Tue 10th March, Tue 17th March & Tue 24th March.

Where: Ferrymead Park

Time: 4pm to 5pm

Regular Season Information

First Kicks (4 - 7 years)

Our First Kicks programme is for boys and girls (born 2019-2022) who are just starting on their football journey and want to learn basic skills, play games and make new friends.

Games: Saturdays from 9-10am at Ferrymead Park starting on May 2nd, 2026.

Skills sessions: Mondays from 4-5pm at Ferrymead Park.

FBFC First Kicks/ Fun Football 2025

Ferrymead Football Hub (8 - 9 years)

Junior Football (10-13 years)

Junior football is for players born between 2013-16, is played on Saturday mornings in the Mainland competition and is split into age bands, playing on different fields around the city at various times.

The focus is still on enjoyment, with no results or tables being recorded.

At the start of the season, players are placed in teams based on graded ability, friendship groups, association to the coach, or general allocation.

Ferrymead Bays FC has multiple teams playing in each age grade.

Junior games start on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026.

10th boys/mixed 7-aside 25 min halves
11th boys/mixed 7-aside 25 min halves
12th boys/mixed 9-aside 25 min halves
13th boys/mixed 9-aside 30 min halves
11th girls only 7-aside 25 min halves
13th girls only 9-aside 30 min halves

Junior playing kit: Players need boots and shinpads. Shirts are provided and navy shorts and socks can be bought from our online shop.

Skills sessions: Available now via Otakaro FC.
